Kharkiv Historical Museum is located in the historical center of the city near
Assumption Cathedral. It was founded in 1920 and was originally called the Museum of Sloboda Ukraine. The museum's collection includes more than 300 thousand items: archival photos, archeological items, numismatics, paintings, etc. Numerous exhibitions are located on four floors of the building, many of them are dedicated to the history of Slobozhanshchina. Next to the museum are samples of military equipment.
