Mount Kremenets in Izyum is the highest point in the Kharkiv region, 218 meters above sea level and 160 meters above the Seversky Donets River. The mountain is a geological monument of nature. In the 14th century, a Tatar fortification, “Kermen”, was located on its top. In the 17th century, the Izyum fortress was built here, from which a rampart and a moat remained. At the top of Kremenets-mountain there is a memorial in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Great Victory, military equipment of those years is installed here - tanks, guns, the famous Katyusha. There is also a monument to the victims of the Holodomor in the form of a cross. Stone statues of the 12th century, found in the surroundings, rise on the mountainside.
A magnificent panorama opens from the mountain with views of Izyum and suburbs, rivers, forests. In clear weather, you can see the Svyatogorsk Lavra in the Donetsk region.

Interesting for lovers of history and nature

We went there for beautiful views and interest in stone statues. Cool to wander through the hills, beautiful nature. More should not be expected.→
