The Museum of Ilya Efimovich Repin in Chuguev was created in 1969 in a small one-story house on the former Nikitinskaya Street, where in 1876-77 the artist, who never broke ties with Ukraine, lived and worked after returning from France. The living room presents the typical furnishings of the second half of the 19th century - furniture, dishes. The sidewalks near the house are paved with tiles imitating old bricks, the stone fence was restored - the house looks like it was during the life of the artist.
In the museum you can see the painter's workshop, which was destroyed during the Second World War and restored according to archival documents. The museum contains four icons by Repin, his later works. Also here are paintings by his contemporaries - M. Pimonenko, P. Vereshchagin, V. Serov.
