Adzhigol hyperboloid lighthouse
Adzhigol hyperbole lighthouse
Ukraine, Gola pristan
The Adzhigol lighthouse is a mesh steel hyperboloid lighthouse of a unique design on an artificial island near Cape Adzhigol opposite the villages of Rybalche and Shirokaya Balka near the southern coast of the Dnieper estuary. The lighthouse with a height of 64 meters is the highest in Ukraine, built in 1911 according to the project of an outstanding engineer, academician Vladimir Grigoryevich Shukhov, the author of the famous Shabolovskaya TV tower in Moscow. Under the lighthouse are service and living quarters. Nearby is the Stanislav-Adzhigolsky rear lighthouse - another design by Shukhov. You can climb 300 steps of a spiral staircase inside a metal pipe to the observation deck of the Adzhigol lighthouse (officially there are no tours) and see a wide panorama of the estuary.
