In the Rivne region, near the village. Tarakanov, near the city of Dubno, there is a well-preserved fortification of the 19th century - Tarakanovskiy (Dubna) Fort. The fort-outpost in Dubno was mainly built from 1885 to 1890. Tarakanovsky Fort attracts historians, diggers, "black archaeologists" and just curious people like a magnet. It is really very interesting here - two-three-story underground corridors, casemates, on the walls of which inscriptions of the late 19th century are still preserved, trap wells, etc.

Highly recommend taking with a tour guide
Practical recommendations: It must be borne in mind that the place is in an abandoned state - just a complex of buildings in a very deplorable state in the middle of a wild forest, no one cares about this attraction, there is no light except natural, there are no paths, toilets, food, etc. Plan to visit for 1-2 hours. We were lucky to meet a small group with a local guide, which we, with the permission of the group, joined. Why you need a guide here: 1) there are many dangerous places (pits, wells, unknown underground passages, collapsing ceilings, etc.→

"Majestic" fort
The fort was built in the late 19th century and was planned as the main outpost of the Russian Empire on the border with Austria. A lot of money was invested in its construction. At the same time there could be more than a thousand soldiers. Unfortunately, time did not spare him and only the ruins of the once majestic fort have survived. One can only regret that he is now in such a deplorable state and only the idea of ​ ​ what he was once admires those people who built it.→
