The Stylskoye outcrop is a geological natural monument of national importance. It is located in the Starobeshevsky district of the Donetsk region near the village of Styla. The status of a natural monument was assigned by order of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR on October 14, 1975. No. 780-r. The area is 25 hectares. In the Stylsky outcrop, there is a section of Upper Devonian and Lower Carboniferous carbonate sequences.
In the Stylsky outcrop, green and brown sandstones mixed with volcanic bombs, as well as green jasper-like siliceous schists, came to the surface. Here you can find a large number of prints of lepidodendropsis - plants of the Devonian geological period. Particularly interesting is the southwestern part of the Styl outcrops in the area of ​​the Maf-khaya hill, in the people of the city of Chernaya. Here, green and brown sandstones with a high content of clastic rocks that were ejected from the volcanic vent to the surface come to the surface: sand, ash, small pebbles, large “bombs” and blocks. To the north of the Maf-khaya hill at 20-25 m, yam-shaped siliceous shales with numerous imprints of fossil plants and animals are exposed. Further, Devonian sandstones with yellowish-gray conglomerates are witnesses of a shallow sea bay in the past at this place. Limestones are exposed in the form of ledges directly near the pond. Above the sandstones and shales are limestone deposits, which were formed from fragments of the skeletons of marine animals and shells. Limestone cliffs reach eleven meters in height. As a result of air erosion, limestone rocks have acquired bizarre shapes.
In 2008, the Stylskoe outcrop was included in the Top-100 of the all-Ukrainian competition "Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine".
