Sports Palace "Shakhtar" - an architectural monument in Donetsk. Built in 1952–1953 on the site of a former brick factory. Architects - G. I. Navrotsky and O. K. Terzyan. This is the first indoor sports hall in Ukraine and one of the first indoor sports halls in the Soviet Union. The building became the prototype of modern multifunctional sports halls and played a role in the formation of a new type of public buildings.

The dimensions of the main hall are 30x30 meters, the complex also includes halls for weightlifting, fencing and boxing. The hall has stands for 600 spectators. Under the stands there are changing rooms, showers, instructors, massage and other utility rooms.

The gymnasium of the Shakhtar voluntary sports society was located here.

Currently, the building is an architectural monument and is protected by the state.
