The Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore is located on Chelyuskintsev Street near the Donbass Arena and the Donetsk Children's Railway. It was opened in 1924. The museum has over 120 thousand exhibits, among which you can find unique items of archeology, paleontology, numismatics, ethnography, as well as personal belongings of celebrities.
The Donetsk Museum was heavily damaged in the fighting in August 2014.
