Karl Marx Avenue is the central street of the city. From the moment of its foundation until 1923, it was called Ekaterininsky Prospekt, and among the common people it was called Bolshaya Street. It goes from the Alley of Glory to Petrovsky Square and has a length of 5 km. There are many attractions on the avenue: the Historical Museum, the Eternal Glory monument, the Battle for the Dnieper diorama, the Khrennikov House (Ukraine Grand Hotel), monuments to Pushkin, Gogol, Lomonosov, Yavornitsky.
