The Dnepropetrovsk Freshwater Fish Aquarium is located on Monastyrsky Island. It was founded in 1986 and belongs to the Dnepropetrovsk National University. The two-story building houses 20 aquariums, which are home to a variety of freshwater fish. The fauna collection includes local inhabitants of the depths, as well as representatives of South and Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia.
