Red Square is located in the historical center of the city near Chernihiv citadel. It was formed at the beginning of the 19th century, when the fortress city lost its strategic importance, and its center began to be built up. Now the cozy central square houses the Drama Theatre, Pyatnitskaya Church and a beautiful light and music fountain.
