Monument to the Heroes of Chornobyl
Ukraine, Brovary
The monument to the "Heroes of Chernobyl" - Brovarians, who in April 1986 participated in the elimination of this terrible accident, was opened on April 22, 2008 near the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine. The bronze monument, the work of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Radionov, the Honored Artist of Ukraine Yevgeny Karpov and the chief architect of Brovary Lilia Rybakova, depicts 5 figures of those who put out the burning rector - a fireman, a rescuer, a builder, a soldier and a railway worker.
Like guardian angels, they soar above the globe, mounted on a marble pedestal. On the right side of the monument there is a memorial plaque with gratitude to the Chernobyl victims from the citizens of Ukraine, on the left side there is a plaque with the names of the Brovary firefighters who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
