The Toad Monument is located on the city embankment near the
Monument to the Fisher Boy. It was installed in 2007. The monument is dedicated to human greed and has become the personification of the popular expression among the people “the toad crushes” or “the toad strangles”. A 250-kilogram bronze toad with a chain, holding a bundle of banknotes and two mobile phones, sits on the heads of a man, a woman, an old man and a child.
