The P. P. Schmidt Memorial House-Museum is located in the city center next to Berdyansk Pedagogical University. Here, from 1876 to 1886, the future famous red lieutenant Peter Schmidt lived. In 1980, a museum dedicated to his memory was opened in the house, the atmosphere of those times was restored. Among the exhibits, an ancient piano occupies a special place.
