Haydarpasha is my first independent travel experience, when, having bought a banal all inclusive package to Kemer in May 2010, I also took Antalya-Istanbul tickets for 4 days and some cheap Istanbul apartments. And I went not for the sake of Hagia Sophia or Topkapi, but for the sake of the station building, which I saw in the video of the Turkish singer. The rails-sleepers-station stations in the video were successfully played with the theme of parting - according to the plot of the song, the hero was abandoned by an insidious beauty. The view of the station from the air is gorgeous, because on three sides the station is surrounded by the Bosphorus, and on the fourth side, the rails diverge at different ends of the country.
We were on time with the trip, because already in November 2010, during the unsuccessful repair of the roof, the workers burned down the upper floor of the station, for some time the building was under repair.
