Museum of Innocence
Museum of Innocence, Masumiyet Muzesi
Turkey, Istanbul
The "Museum of Innocence" was founded in 2012 by the famous Turkish writer and Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, but he thought about it much earlier - even during the creation of the novel of the same name, so the museum is inextricably linked with this work. Things that later became exhibits of the museum, Orkhan Pamuk collected more than 15 years - he bought them at flea markets and flea markets. Here you can feel the longing for old Istanbul, for provincial life, for the past, for childhood, for lost love.
Each display stand is dedicated to one chapter of Pamuk's novel "Museum of Innocence".
The showcases of the museum showcases things that surround the main characters of the novel - Fusun and Kemal. The stands are filled with vintage household items, crockery, jewelry, newspapers, toys, lighters, keys, old cans, bottles, receipts and more. According to the exhibits collected in the "Museum of Innocence", one can easily trace the history of all of Istanbul.
