The Sakip Sabancı Museum is a private museum of fine arts, founded by a businessman and philanthropist Sakip Sabancı and opened in 2002. Today, this museum houses unique examples of calligraphic art, masterpieces of painting from the Ottoman Empire, and valuable documents of national importance. The collection includes handwritten copies of the Holy Quran, individual inscriptions and entire albums, painted tablets, sayings of the Prophet; official documents; as well as tools used in calligraphy. The museum has a wonderful collection of paintings from the Ottoman period, where you can see the work of artists Osman Hamdi Bey, Khalil Pasha, Ibrahim Challa and many other Turkish artists. The collection also includes paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky and Fausto Zonaro. It is quite natural that part of the collection also consists of personal belongings of Sabanji - these are personal letters, photographs of the owner of the house with famous people, all kinds of medals and other personal items.
In addition to permanent exhibitions, various cultural events and exhibitions of foreign artists are also held here - paintings by Rembrandt, Monet, Rodin, Picasso and Dali were exhibited here.
The museum houses a souvenir shop and a restaurant with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus.
