Panorama Museum 1453 was opened on January 31, 2009 in the Topkapi Cultural Park. The diorama is located in a specially constructed building with a large round hall (diameter 38 m, height 20 m) on the site of the most fierce battles during the assault on Constantinople by the troops of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II. Almost 10 thousand participants in this historic battle of 1453 are depicted on a huge canvas. A variety of light and sound effects (cannon shots, guttural cries of Janissaries storming the city walls, loud music of musicians inspiring them, the roar of falling parts of the fortress walls of besieged Constantinople) exacerbate the feeling of personal presence. Participation in what is happening is also emphasized by real objects located here - such as weapons scattered nearby, cannonballs, torn cannons, ammunition.
All visitors note the incredible realism of the image.
