The Galata Bridge is a drawbridge across the
Golden Horn and connects the Old and New sides of the European side of Istanbul. The bridge is 484 meters long and 42 meters wide.
The bridge is a two-story structure, on the first floor of which there are restaurants and a walking area, and on the second floor there is tram and car traffic.
The modern bridge is the fifth in a row and was built in 1992.
Near the bridge, across the road, is the
New Mosque and you can always watch the many fishermen fishing here.
