Aqueduct of Valens

The Valens aqueduct was built during the reign of the Byzantine emperor Valens in the 4th century. and was part of the water supply system of Constantinople. Located on Ataturk Boulevard. Its original length was over a kilometer, and its maximum height was 26 meters. Through lead pipes laid along the top of the aqueduct, water entered the city until the middle of the 19th century. In our time, only part of the aqueduct has survived - 971 m long and 20 m high.
