I have long dreamed of visiting this place, but I put off the excursion until I was in the Marmaris region. I did not want to spend 6-7 tiring hours of driving from Alanya or Kemer on the road.
And now the dream has come true! In August, while relaxing in Marmaris, I still decided on Pamukkale. Moreover, I chose a longer option for two days, which also includes a visit to Ephesus. I admit, I chose based on reviews. I read that tourists like the 2-day option more. We bought a tour from a local Daisy Tour company, so perhaps their program is slightly different from that offered by hotel guides.
What I liked. Firstly, the fact that we ended up in Pamukkale on the second day at about 9-00 in the morning. At this time, it was not crowded there and we were able to calmly inspect everything and take a walk.
Live travertines are not as snow-white as in the photo. But still, the sight is impressive! In my opinion, there are not enough protective fences here.
Many tourists are photographed barefoot, and the surface is quite slippery in some places!
About 3 hours were allocated for the walk, which is quite enough for photographs. The sun begins to mercilessly burn hours from 10-11 in the morning.
Didn't really like Cleopatra's pool. We paid 32 lira for the entrance, and I think this price is inadequate. An ordinary body of water with stagnant water, at the bottom of various fake columns and debris. The water seems to be clean, but if you consider that it is not flowing, and estimate how many people wash in it per day ...It becomes uncomfortable.
Various souvenirs such as magnets, onyx jewelry are very expensive. And my advice - take plenty of water!
This is a "must see" attraction. Many people come here every year, but once is enough for me. I saw, walked, put a tick in the achievements "I was here. "
