I was in Pammukale at the beginning of September 2015.
I went there from Marmaris (with a two-day excursion "Efes-Pammukkale").
Well, how not to visit this famous Turkish landmark of nature, when you are relaxing so close?!
I always looked at pictures on the Internet, read about Pammukal and there were already some expectations like - wow! snow-white cotton paradise, etc. snowy mountain on a hill... ))
Yes, expectations were justified, I liked everything, but for some reason there was no wild delight. Probably an "unprepared" tourist or a spontaneous traveler will be more impressed by this place.
By the way, it feels like when I went there - I thought that everything would be smooth and clean, but it turned out to be slick)) often gray and quite dirty ...but this is nature, it's still cool.
The place is unique and beautiful. There you can take beautiful pictures for memory.
Of the shortcomings that I noticed - this is practically a lack of security, I mean there are not enough employees who would follow the tourists well, and there are quite a few of them, including children and the elderly. There are also no barriers in places where it is dangerous to walk.
As a conclusion:
I recommend visiting Pammukale if you are on a long vacation in Marmaris-Bodrum-Izmir, and it is better to have an overnight stay nearby, as there you can both relax from the road and take a walk in the beautiful park-garden. (In the photo this is where the pond is).
In the most sunny hours it is hard to be there, so you need to come from the very opening in the morning.
