Sedir Island

Sedir Island, Cleopatra Island, Cleopatra Beach, Sedir Adası, Kleopatra Plajı, Kedrai, Cedrai
Turkey, Marmaris
Sedir Island (City of Kedrai) is 16 km away. north of Marmaris. Sedir attracts with attractions such as the golden sandy beach of Cleopatra and the ancient city of Kedrai. You can see the ruins of the city walls and the theater of antiquity.
Locals believe that Cleopatra and Antony swam in these places. According to legend, golden sand was brought on ships from North Africa. Such sand could only be seen in Egypt.
On the shores of the island, fragments of walls and towers can be traced, and in the center the ruins of the temple of Apollo, built in the time of the Dorians, have been preserved. At present, only the foundation remains of the temple. On the eastern part of the island there is an Agora, various city buildings and a necropolis, as well as a well-preserved theater.

We were on the island in mid-September. In principle - the end of the season, maybe this influenced the impressions, but they are ambiguous. The island itself is nothing, a typical tourist lure...((But the sea around it...It's divine) Turquoise on Cleopatra Beach, sapphire in Olive Bay, clear as a child's tear, warm and affectionate) In general, if we get there once again (but there is a desire) - we will devote all the time to the sea)

Of all the excursions that I have been on, Cleopatra Beach can be called the most beautiful place, and I have been on almost all of them ...Excursions were ordered through the Palm Tour agency, a representative got in touch with us, called himself Rasim. He issued us tickets (price $ 25 per person) and the next morning at about 10 we were taken from the hotel. We drove for about 40 minutes, then moved to a two-deck ship. On the ship, the excursion was led by a Russian girl Natalia, there were several stops in front of the island, and finally, we arrived at the island itself.

Sedir Island is a piece of paradise that you definitely want to return to. The sea there is wonderful: warm, transparent, azure. The natural attractions of the island struck me with their beauty. I didn’t want to leave there at all)) Of course, I recommend everyone to visit this place, you will remember the trip to the island of Sedir forever.

Marmaris is located on the Mediterranean Sea, and half an hour away, behind the peninsula is the Aegean Sea - unusually beautiful! In Marmaris and Icmeler, the sea is cold, so we chose the Aegean Islands + Cleopatra Island (aka Sedir) tour. The ship stops for swimming near four islands: 1) Rabbit Island (they live there). In the sea near the island there are 2 underwater caves 15m deep. They say that pirates used to hide treasures there. 2) Blue bay with sheer cliffs Lajivert - depth 40m, so the water is really blue! 3) Incikum Bay with a beautiful beach and white sand, but also with a large number of holidaymakers.

Interesting history of the island. Mega nice beach. On the way there are 4 stops for swimming in the sea. The last one is especially cool: the depth is 18 meters! You can jump from the top deck of the boat. We were delighted!

The beach is unique, they say that the sand does not get hot, because it is hollow inside (and that is why it is forbidden to take it with you), it is forbidden to smoke, which immediately adds a hundred pluses, in addition to the already existing ones - water, views, beauty. Definitely worth going as part of an excursion or on your own.

This is a small island that can be reached by boat. The island has an incredible beach with some extraordinary sand, and the color of the sea is also unusual. I remember the amphitheater, surrounded by olive trees, which are more than 150 years old. There are other ancient ruins as well. I advise you to come there early to enjoy the absence of tourists. There is a cafe, on the beach, of course, there are sun loungers.
