Gorge Saklikent
Saklikent
Turkey, Fethiye
Saklikent, the “Invisible City”, is the longest and deepest gorge in Turkey. Its length is 18 kilometers, depth - 300 meters. The height difference between the entrance to the gorge and the exit from it is 700 meters. The gorge is so steep and narrow that the rays of the sun do not reach its bottom, so the waters of the river remain icy even in the hottest summer.
The edges of the gorge are connected by a long boardwalk. Walking along Saklikent, you can get to the Ulupinar spring, whose seething bubbles fly out from under the rock base with great force.
The walk along the gorge is pleasant and easy for the first four kilometers, and then the path is blocked by a landslide, which only rock climbers can overcome. For more adventurous travelers, rafting on the river is offered, as well as paragliding.
