Blue Lagoon

Blakitna Lagoon, Blue Lagoon
Turkey, Fethiye
The Blue Lagoon is a beach in the national natural park-reserve in the resort of Oludeniz, which is 10 km from Fethiye. This is a wide spit separating the bay from the sea, surrounded by pine trees and closed from currents and winds. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag distinction and claims to be the best and most beautiful beach in Turkey. The beach on the outer side of the spit, from the side of the open sea, is small-pebbly, at the entrance to the sea a few meters from the shore it is already quite deep. The beach on the inner side of the spit overlooking the bay is sandy, with a gentle entry into the water. In this place the bay is shallow, the water has an emerald green color and warms up quickly. Entrance to the Blue Lagoon beach is paid, there is a cafe, equipped with showers, changing rooms and toilets.

Of course, it is not blue, but rather greenish, very calm, without waves, surrounded by rocks and pines. A very shallow entry into the water, but further behind the buoys - depth! Very nice to swim with a mask. We saw hedgehogs (at depth), a fish-flute in algae, a sea slime, yellow-black with antennae, and other gray rubula. The water is clear and at a depth already becomes turquoise. Due to the shallow water and the absence of waves, there are many Turkish families with children and weak swimmers.

We visited the blue lagoon beach in July 2017. Unfortunately on Sunday. There were a lot of people, there was nowhere for an apple to fall, all the water was filled with people, a lot of children. Resting mostly local. Fine, the water is worth it. I wasn't impressed. We stayed there for 10 minutes and went to the city beach. Maybe at other times of the year in the off season this is a great place, but not when there are a lot of vacationers.

The most popular place in the city of Oludeniz. There is sand and no waves. Suitable for small children and those who do not know how to swim. Here there is a high probability of seeing turtles that have been living in it for more than 5 years.
