Dalyan river

Dalyan
Turkey, Dalaman
The Dalyan River runs through the Turkish city of the same name and connects Lake Koycegiz with the Mediterranean Sea. Between the river delta, which, by the way, is part of a state-protected nature reserve, and the sea, there is a sandy spit up to 160 meters wide, known as Iztuzu Turtle Beach. It is here that the eggs of the loggerhead turtle, listed in the Red Book, are laid. A tour along the meandering Dalyan River is a popular tourist attraction. Stunning views around every turn will not leave anyone indifferent during a water trip. Special attention during such an excursion is given to the tombs of the Lycian kings carved into the rocks and the ruins of the ancient city of Kaunos.

Turpravda has a wonderful story about this place - https://www.turpravda.com/tr/dalaman/blog-255892.html. But, I can't help but add on my own that this is an interesting attraction that is worth a visit. Firstly, there is beautiful nature here (it is an extraordinary pleasure to swim in the labyrinths of reed thickets). Secondly, there are interesting animals here (turtles, of course, but there are also blue crabs, and herons, and local cows that go up to their necks into the water, and other trifles).
