Ataturk Museum
Ataturk Museum in Bursa, Ataturk House Museum
Turkey, Bursa
The museum building is located in the Chekirge district of Bursa. It was built presumably at the end of the 19th century. Apart from the basement and attic, the mansion has two floors. During the second visit of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to Bursa (it was from January 20 to 24, 1923), the municipality of the city of Bursa bought the mansion from its owner, Mr. Mirai Mehmed, and presented it as a gift to the Great Leader. After that, during his visits to Bursa, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed in this house. In 1938, after the death of the Great Leader of the Turkish people, the mansion was sold to the Pension Fund of the Republic of Turkey by the municipality of Bursa. On February 6, 1968, the Pension Fund of the Republic of Turkey transferred the right to own the mansion to the General Directorate for the management of museums. On October 29, 1973, in the year of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, after repair and finishing work, the mansion was opened to the public as the Ataturk Museum.
First floor: to the right of the entrance there is a reception hall, to the left of the entrance there is a dining room and a rest room adjacent to it.
Second floor: to the right of the entrance is the bedroom, to the left of the entrance is the workroom, to the right of which you can get into the lemon greenhouse. In the basement there was a kitchen and a room intended for servants. Almost all the furnishings of the house have been preserved in the form in which it was under Ataturk.
