Silk shop Koza Khan
Silk Cocoon House, Koza Hani, Silk Bazaar, Koza Hanı, Koza Hani
Turkey, Bursa
The two-story shop Koza Khan (translated from Turkish as “House of Silk Cocoons”) was built in 1451. Then the Great Silk Road from China ended in Bursa, along which silk was brought to Europe, and then stolen silk cocoons were also brought. Interestingly, in the courtyard of the house, like in a mosque, there is a fountain for ritual ablutions and a room for prayers. The building has recently been restored and still sells brocade and natural silk.
