Ruins of Roman baths in Carthage

Baths of Anthony Pius
Tunis, Tunis
They are part of the archaeological park "Carthage", which is located on the outskirts of the city of Tunis - the capital of the state of the same name. They were built in the 2nd century AD. e. under the emperor Antoninus Pius, when Carthage became one of the many colonies of the Roman Empire. Occupying an area of about two hectares, the baths in Carthage were considered the second largest in the entire empire. They were not only a place of rest for the local nobility, but also a place for business meetings. To date, only foundations and fragments of walls have survived from the former grandeur of the Roman baths in Carthage.
