Ribat is a monastery-fortress that serves to protect the coast from attacks from the sea. Ribat was finally completed in 821 during the reign of the Aghlabids, this is one of the most ancient fortresses in Tunisia.
Along the perimeter of the courtyard, paved with light stone, there are galleries of cells and a watchtower - Nador rises. If you climb the 73 steps to the top of the tower, you will have a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings.
