Wat Yan Temple Complex and Park is 30 km away. from Pattaya. This favorite place of rest and meditation for Buddhists is under the patronage of the Thai royal family and is considered miraculous. The park with gazebos for meditation is located at the foot of the Kau Chi Chan mountain, which depicts the largest image of the Sitting Buddha, lined with gold plates, laid in specially hollowed out grooves in the surface of the rock. The height of this image is about one hundred and sixty meters.
A few kilometers from this mountain is the monastery-museum Wat Yansangwararam, briefly called Wat Yan. This is one of the largest temple complexes in Thailand, where temples of different times and styles are collected not only from Thailand, but also from China and India. The palace of the Chinese emperor, in the halls of which unique exhibits are presented, specially brought from China.
In the temple itself, going up to the third floor, you can get acquainted with the story of Buddha's enlightenment, described in numerous paintings hanging on the walls. On the second floor there is a wonderful exposition describing antiquities and customs of people who lived many years ago.
A few kilometers from the museum, on a high mountain, there is a little-known chapel, in which the “Footprint of the Buddha” is located. The path to it lies through 300 steps upwards (in fact, there are a little less of them), climbing each of which, a person leaves one of his negative traits in order to climb to the Trail of the Perfect, completely cleansed.
