Lamai beach
Lamai Beach
Thailand, Ko Samui
Lamai Beach is considered the second most popular beach among tourists after Chaweng Beach. It is also in the eastern part of the island, but just south of Chaweng.
Compared to Chaweng, it is less hectic, although various entertainment establishments are also located here in large numbers. Most vacationers on Lamai are couples in love and couples with children.
The coast of Lamai stretches for 4 km. The sea here is clear and clean, the sand has a shade of gold and resembles coarse salt in its structure. The entrance to the sea is pleasant without sudden changes in depth, there are few corals.
In the southern part of the beach there is a unique rock formation Hin Ta & Hin Ya or Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks. In their appearance, they resemble male and female genitalia.
The northern part of Lamai Beach is a quiet and secluded place. There is a cozy bay with a large rocky promontory and lush tropical jungle going high into the mountains. The central part of Lamai is a very lively place, but not as crowded, noisy and hectic as its fellow Chaweng. Prices in Lamai are slightly lower than in Chaweng.
