Temple Wat Kunaram
Wat Khunaram, Wat Khunaram, Khunaram Temple
Thailand, Ko Samui
Wat Kunaram is a small temple in the south of Koh Samui that attracts a large number of both tourists and locals. Vacationers on the island want to see an amazing phenomenon - the natural mummy of a Buddhist monk who predicted the date of his own death and died during meditation. The Thais themselves come here to pray and ask for advice: the monk Pra Kru Sanatakitittkhun was considered a very wise man during his lifetime. The mummy sits upright in a glass box, and believers visiting the temple sacrifice flowers and incense to her. In the temple, you can also get the blessing of the monks living here, tie a talisman bracelet for good luck and try to make an old bronze gong sound. You can get to Wat Kunaram along the ring road that surrounds the island, both independently and as part of some excursions.
