Wat Tham Sua, Tiger Cave Temple, Tiger Cave Temple, Tiger Cave Monastery, Wat Tham Sua
Thailand, Krabi
The monastery is located in a large cave inside the mountain, which is located three kilometers from Krabi and is the most grandiose Buddhist complex in southern Thailand. Founded in 1975 by monk Chamnian Silsetso.
There is a small pool of water here, which Thais associate with the foot of the Buddha, where you can make a wish and throw a coin for good luck. Around the cave there are many ancient trees. There is a specially designated place for meditation and meeting with the monks.
In order to climb to the top of the rock in which the cave is located, you need to overcome 1237 steps. There you can enjoy the splendor of a beautiful Buddha statue located in an open area. Also along the way there are additional intermediate platforms for viewing.
