The building to house the branch of the Czechoslovak Agricultural Museum was built in 1924-1928 according to the design of Milan architect Michal Harminko. The decoration of the facade was done by F. Aprka, and the bronze door was done by S. Paukert. At the end of World War II, the building was badly damaged by bombing. Restoration work was carried out under the direction of the author of the building project Milan Harminko.

The Slovak National Museum, Slovakia's largest museum, is now housed here. It has 18 specialized subdivisions-museums, the expositions of which are located in different parts of the country. His collection includes more than 3.5 million exhibits. In this building is the management of all museums and the Museum of Natural History.

A monument to Tomas Harrig Masaryk has been erected in front of the building. The sculpture of the first president of Czechoslovakia was made in 1924 by the famous Czech sculptor Ladislav Shalon.
