In the small Florian Square, far from the old quarters, rises the majestic Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God, also called Blumenthal, so as not to confuse it with another city church of the same name. It was built in the area of the Slovak capital, formerly known as the Blooming Valley (German: Blumenthal). Today, a street overlooking Florian Square is named after the old name of the district. The church was built on the site of an ancient baroque church, which ceased to suit the townspeople with its capacity.→
