Fort Siloso
Fort Siloso
Singapore, Singapore
Fort Siloso is the only one of the twelve coastal support batteries of Singapore that has survived to this day, located on the western part of Sentosa Island. The fort was erected by the British Army in the 1880s to guard the narrow seaward entrance to the Keppel Strait.
All bunkers, warehouses, tunnels and ammunition storage sites are now open to tourists, and military weapons from the 17th century to the Second World War are also on display. Many dummies of British soldiers and officers are located throughout the Fort in order to reproduce the natural conditions of life and work on the Fort in the past. Also on the territory of the Fort there is an exhibition, which contains numerous photographs and documents from the time of the War.
