The German Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church in the Old Town district in the center of Stockholm. The church was consecrated in honor of Saint Gertrude of Nivelles (626-659), abbess of the Benedictine monastery of Nivelles in modern Belgium and the patroness of travelers.
The church is open from May 1 to September 30: daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A set of bells allows you to hear the ringing in the old city four times every day. The interior of the church is made in the Baroque style, with large windows that let in a lot of light into the building, high vaults, decorated with angel heads. The brick spire, the top of which is covered with copper sheets, has a height of 86 meters.
