The Djurgårdsbrun Bridge is considered the most beautiful bridge in Stockholm. This ornate three-span cast-iron bridge was built in the late 19th century. engineer Carl Fraenell in collaboration with architect Eric Josephson, it was dedicated to the opening of the World Exhibition of Arts and Crafts in 1987. This building connects the mainland of Östermalm with the island and Djurgården park. The bridge has a length of 58 m and a width of 18 m. Djurgårdsbrun is richly decorated - here you can see the reliefs of sea monsters, the image of St. Eric, the patron saint of Stockholm, and graceful lampposts. At both ends of the bridge, on four granite columns, there are statues of the Scandinavian gods - Thor with a hammer, the goddess of love and beauty Freya, Heimdall with a horn and Frigga, the wife of the supreme god Odin. The Djurgårdsbrun Bridge offers a magnificent view of the surrounding beauty, so you should definitely take a walk along it when traveling to Stockholm.
