Chegem waterfalls

Chegem waterfalls, Weeping waterfalls
russia, Nalchik
Chegem waterfalls are a group of 3 waterfalls on several rivers that flow into the main river of the region - Chegem. They are found along the route along the Chegem Gorge, one of the main natural decorations of the Kabardino-Balkarian region. The most powerful of the waterfalls is the Small Chegemsky Adai-Su waterfall (30 m high), the second is the Sakal-Tup waterfall and the most extensive is the Main Chegemsky waterfall (about 60 m high), consisting of several water cascades and oozing streams from rock crevices. Chegem waterfalls hit with great force directly from the sheer cliffs of the gorge, for which they are also often called Weeping waterfalls. Near the waterfalls there is a small hotel, a cafe and a market with handicrafts of local craftswomen.

We were not very lucky with the weather, it was cool and it was raining, but there were few people there and it was possible to take pictures without interference)) The waterfalls themselves were not very impressive, since there was not much water at that time. I expected to see waterfalls - this is a lot of water ...But the road impressed me very much! I didn't regret going at all. I advise you to visit.

Having skated for several days on Cheget, we decided to have a rest day and take an excursion. At the cable car station, they saw an ad, the author of which promised an excursion program, which included, among other things, a visit to the Chegem waterfalls. The tour turned out to be very eventful. Our driver, who is also a guide, while we were driving, talked a lot and interestingly about local sights, customs and traditions. The waterfalls are located in Chegemsky, adjacent to ours, the Baksan Gorge.
