The MUZEON art park on Krymskaya embankment in the center of Moscow is known for its Open Air Sculpture Museum. The museum arose in 1992, when, by decision of the Moscow City Hall, dismantled monuments to Soviet communist leaders began to be brought to the park, for example, the famous monument to F.E. Dzerzhinsky from the Lubyanka by sculptor Vuchetich.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Victory, an exposition dedicated to military topics appeared in the park. In 1998, a section of the museum dedicated to the memory of the victims of Stalinist repressions was opened, based on 300 sculptures by Yevgeny Chubarov, placed around the lifetime monument to I.V. Stalin by the sculptor Merkurov, erected here.
In total, the park of arts houses more than 700 sculptures of the Soviet period and contemporary authors.
MUZEON regularly hosts screenings of programs of various film festivals in an open-air cinema, exhibitions of contemporary art, branded music festivals on 3 stages, theater, book, and gastronomic festivals.
The park with an area of 23.46 hectares is included in the structure of the
