The Moscow International House of Music is one of the largest philharmonic complexes in the world, opened in 2002. The ten-story building 46 meters high houses 3 concert halls - Svetlanovsky (1699 seats), Chamber (556 seats) and Theater (400-524 seats, depending on the event), a summer Musical Terrace, a recording studio and an audio-video complex, an exhibition gallery, salon of musical instruments, restaurant. The dome of the building is decorated with the creation of Zurab Tsereteli - a treble clef 9.5 meters high and weighing 6 tons. A complex roller mechanism allows such a massive structure to rotate like a weather vane.
The President of the House of Music is People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, a famous violinist and conductor.
It houses the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra "Russian Philharmonic" and the Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation.
