Oktyabrskaya Square in Yekaterinburg was created after the demolition in the 1970s of the old residential buildings in the area of the Workers Youth Embankment on the Iset River. The square is located on Boris Yeltsin Street, 500 meters from the Ploshchad 1905 Goda metro station.
The main dominant feature of the square is the Shar fountain, which symbolizes our planet, which becomes clean under jets of water. The new building of the local academic drama theater is located here, which is why Oktyabrskaya Square is sometimes called "Theatrical" or, simply, "Drama". The building of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region rises behind the theater, so various festive city events are often held on the square, for example, City Day. Oktyabrskaya Square is a favorite vacation spot for young people; cyclists, rollerbladers and skateboarders gather here.

Day of the city

Oktyabrskaya Square is a relatively recent attraction of the city, first here - on the embankment of the City Pond on the Iset River - the Drama Theater moved from the old building, then administrative buildings were built, now hotels have been added. The square has become a popular place among the townspeople and guests of the city, where on August 19 the next 294th anniversary of the founding of Yekaterinburg was celebrated.→
