During the Great Patriotic War, radio broadcasting to the USSR was carried out from Sverdlovsk, the capital of the Urals, not so much because of the threat of bombing, but because the radio towers in Moscow had to be dismantled - they, all the more working, would be an excellent beacon for fascist aviation. From here, from the house of the Sverdlovsk Radio Committee, the unforgettable voice of Yuri Levitan sounded: "Attention! Moscow is speaking!
