The Anichkov Palace is a historic classicist building located near the
Anichkov Bridge, hence its name. It was built during the reign of Empress Elizabeth, later it was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded, and its style changed according to the tastes of its owners. In the 19th century the heirs of the Russian throne - Nicholas I, Alexander II and Alexander III - lived in the Anichkov Palace - he passed from father to son as a wedding gift. At that time, balls, musical evenings and other social events were often held here. Now the Anichkov Lyceum and the Palace of Youth Creativity are located in the palace.
