Revolution Square is a fairly large square in the center of Bucharest. It received its modern name in 1989 after the anti-communist uprising and the overthrow of the Ceausescu government. Before the renaming, the square was called the Palace Square, since it houses the former Royal Palace, and now the
National Museum of Fine Arts of Romania. In the center of the square there is a sculptural composition "Renaissance", dedicated to the memory of the dramatic events of the 1989 revolution, and it is surrounded by many beautiful architectural buildings - the Ateneum concert hall, the luxurious historical hotel Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest, the library of the University of Bucharest and, of course, the building former Royal Palace.
