There are quite a few bridges on the Douro River in Porto, and each of them is beautiful and original in its own way. However, the best of them is the bridge of Don Louis I, which has long been perceived as one of the main symbols of Porto. Luis I Bridge is located in the historic center of Porto and connects the city of Porto with its suburbs Vila Nova de Gaia. The bridge was built in the second half of the XIX century. designed by Theophile Seyrig, a student and companion of the famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel.→
