Porto Cathedral is the main religious building of the city, resembling in its appearance more a fortress than a temple. Its building was built in the XII-XIII centuries, but over the long centuries of its existence it was rebuilt several times. At different times, many significant events took place here: Henry the Navigator, revered by the Portuguese, was baptized in this temple, and in the XIV century. Here the wedding ceremony of King John I and the English princess Philippa of Lancaster took place.→
