Braga remains one of the main religious centers of Portugal to this day. The Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary is unofficially considered the main cathedral of the city. It is located in the central part of the Old Town, and the date of its foundation dates back to the 12th century. Over the centuries, the cathedral has undergone many changes, so today in its image we can observe a mixture of different architectural styles: Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque and Manueline. The graceful crown-shaped towers of the Cathedral are visible from many points of the city, and when approaching the temple, severe defensive walls and ancient facades with Romanesque and Gothic features emerge.→
