During the distant Middle Ages, there were meat rows in the Jatki street area. Today it houses art studios and galleries. But so that the history of the place is not forgotten, the sculptor Petr Vichorek, by order of the city authorities, made and installed the first animal sculpture here. Immediately a tradition was born - every year another figure was added. The rooster sculpture was installed away from the main group, taking into account the wishes of the customer - the owner of a nearby restaurant.
